| This artwork, dedicated to my friend Abdullah Ibrahim (1934-2026), is a new work derived from source photographs taken in 2017. At that time, this shoot resulted in a series Knysna Blue Dreams. The Loerie is a green bird with a splashy blue tail. Found in South Africa’s coastal forests, the title resonates as an echo of several stories Dr. Ibrahim shared with me, as well as with Attar’s Conference of the Birds. |
